Panty Line

No, I'm not talking about a cheesy late-night phone commercial, I'm talking about a really cute Bridal or Bachlorette Party idea. I'm sure I'm not the only one on WeddingBee going to festivities for other brides, so I thought I share a gift idea I wish I'd come up with.

For my friends, Krissi's recent Bachlorette Party, her sister, Britt found this really cute poem online:

I have a secret to share
About our little bride
She is obsessed with underwear
And that I cannot hide

So for our little panty queen
I gathered up some twine
And put the panties in a row
To make a panty line.

Krissi these undies are to last you
All throughout your life
And Andrew will be pleased to say
He has a sexy wife!

So listen up to hear about
Your lifelong panty plan
These underwear, we have no doubt
Will last your whole life span

The first are for your wedding day
Of course they are pure white
We know Kendall will shout, "Hooray!"
When he sees you on that night

The next are for your honeymoon
They're sexy and all lace
We hope you'll leave your hotel room
'Cause Costa Rica is such a gorgeous place!

On Valentine's you'll wear this pair
Before you hit the bed
Cuz Cupid's arrow in the air
Shoots tushies that are red

After a year has passed you'll face
Anniversary number one
With these you'll surely have a blast
'Cuz leopard's so much fun!

Then when the time is right for you
And don't be saying, "Maybe"
You'll wear your little pink or blue
In honor of your baby

And when your years of wedding bliss
Become the big 2-5
Don't worry - you'll just slip this on
To keep the sparks alive

When finally you're old and gray
With these you can't go wrong
'Cuz sorry Krissi but at that age
You just can't wear a thong

For each stanza of the poem she put the coresponding panty on the line.

Sorry the picture isn't the best

From left to right she has Bridal Panties with a veil, a sexy black lacey pair, a sexy red lacey pair, a leopard print pair, the pink or blue pair, a cute pair that ties on the side, and a sassy ruffly pair by Honeydew. Britt said she found most of them at Fredrick's and Nordstom Rack.

What are some cute shower gift ideas you've seen or used?

SoleMates

I can't remember what I started drooling over first, wedding dresses or wedding shoes. I LOVE shoes! (Really what girl doesn't?) If I take a look at the collection of shoes I've bookmarked over the past 7 monthes (have I really been planning that long?) I see a trend - Pumps.

Source - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

But a couple months ago it hit me - I'm getting married on GRASS! I will walk down a grass aisle and I will mingle on grass durning our reception.

Those heels are going to sink right in. What is a French Bulldog to do? I can't change my venue, that would just be crazy. I guess I could wear wedges, like the wise Mrs Pomegranate, but I don't think wedges would go well with my lacey dress. Plus, I've only found one pair I like.

Christian Louboutin doesn't come cheap and if I'm buying Louboutin I want a red sole darn it!

Enter, my SoleMates, not to be confused with my Soulmate, Mr. Frenchie.

According to their website, SoulMates, increase the surface area of the heel base, which of course reduces the pressure so you don't irrigate the lawn. A pretty genius invention if you ask me. Mama Frenchie picked up a pair of these in clear for me at a local boutique, but they can also be ordered online.

Just in case your wondering how well they work, I tested them out at our venue this weekend and I didn't sink at all.

Are you getting married on the grass too? What kind of shoes are you wearing?

His Next Roomate

To say Mr French Bulldog has had some bad roommates would be a gross understatement. I could write a post on each one of them, but that isn't the point so I'll just run by a few of the highlights...

Previous Roommate #1 - Crazy lady who was okay when she took her meds, but when she didn't, she would have conversations with her cats and couldn't be trusted with knives. Obviously she was on her meds when he went to look at the place.

Previous Roommate #2 - While Mr Frenchie''s BFF was visiting, and his roommate was at "work", the repo-man came to repossess RM#2's stuff.

Previous Roommate #3 - This roommate got jealous of all the time Mr Frenchie was spending with me, and as things between them started to go bad, RM#3 thought it would be a good idea to buy a TUBA and practice it at all hours of the day and night.

Previous Roommate #4 - Completely forgot a conversation about the rent they had had 30 mins previous. Mr Frenchie had to have the entire conversation again... RM#4 didn't remember it AT ALL. We're also fairly certain he was in jail when he said he went to Hawaii for a few weeks. (These are just the highlights people).

Previous Roommate #5 - (Or RM#5's mother) RM#5's Mother, sublet her room to Mr Frenchie when she moved in with her boyfriend. Even though she no longer lived in the apartment she still though it was alright to host dinner parties and Sunday brunches without even warning Mr Frenchie.

Current Roommate (#6) - To be fair RM#6 is the most normal of the bunch, it was his ex-fiance that was the problem. She's out of the picture now, hence the "ex", but that was after the night he came home to find 3 cop cars, 1 fire truck and 1 EMT vehicle parked out front.

Everytime I hear a new story about a previous roommate or current roommate (at the time) I tell him, "I promise I wouldn't do that when we live together." Some people ask us why we don't just move-in together now and some of you are probable wondering the same thing as you read this... that is something we both agreed, from the get go, we didn't want to do until we were married. After all the emergency vehicles and with the wedding getting closer, it is tempting to just move in together, but we're sticking to our guns. We have nothing against people that live together before they are married, in fact most of our friends have done it, we just want to leave something for when we're married.

Have you decided to hold off living together until after your married?

Surprise Reception

Melissa over at Operation NiCE posted this hilarious video by Improv Everywhere. According to their website, Improv Everywhere "causes scenes of chaos and joy in public places". What could be a better definition for a wedding reception? and a surprise one at that!

I love how the newlywed couple just rolls with the punches and totally plays along. It's a reminder to just enjoy your wedding day no matter what happens.

How would you react to a surprise reception?

Wedding Day MUST Haves

There are a few things I MUST have at my disposal on our wedding day...

#1 Mr French Bulldog - Hello, can't have our Wedding without this guy!
fh
Mr French Bulldog very excited our first time celebrating his birthday.

but since he doesn't fit in my clutch, I'll just talk about those things...

#2 - Blood Sugar Tester - My FreeStyle Lite tester goes with me where ever I go. A diabetic should never be without her tester :)

fslite

#3 - Insulin Pump - Because I am a Type I Diabetic, I am insulin dependant. I have chosen to manage my Diabetes with an Insulin Pump, in order to keep in better control and stay healthier.
pump

#4 - Insulin - (and spare syringes) this should be pretty self explanatory after #2 & #3... the spare syringes are just in case my pump does't work. This is very rare, but I always carry extra just in case.

humalog

#5 - Aquaphor - I'm sure anyone with a Chapstick Addiction can relate to this one. I love Aquaphor. Sister Frenchie introduced me to this around Christmas. She started using it during her works outs because it lasted longer than our favorite Softlips and she thought I'd want to use it for working out as well. Aquaphor has turned into my Windex, I've also started using it on chapped skin or scabs I want to heal prettier. I wasn't sure it was actually helping my scars until my Dermatologist gave me some samples to put on a scar I had from removing a mole on my boobie. SCORE!

aquaphor

#6 - Laura Mercier Lip Stain - In Sugar Violet to be exact. If you haven't tried this lip colour yet, I highly recommend it (in any color you choose). I hate the way lipstick feels on my lips and this is lighter to me and last MUCH longer.

What are you Wedding Day Must Haves?

Too Late?

With less than three months to go, is it too late to change my venue and move my wedding to the East Coast?

*SWOOOON*

arch1

I recently saw the DREAMY ceremony site on Style Me Pretty's Little Black Blog. It is straight out of a fairytale!

first-22

These photos are from the wedding of Mikel and David, in St Michael's, MD. Wait, I have family in MD! I could totally move my wedding... right? I love our country/bird themed wedding, but every once and awhile I run across a drool worthy wedding and I wonder - "What if?"

If you could change your venue, where would you move your wedding?

Tricking our Guests

The French Bulldog invitations are off to the printers, YAY! But before we could send them out we had to answer the tricky question of when to start the ceremony and more importantly what to put on the invitations. If you're reading this thinking, "Um Frenchie, shouldn't they be the same time?" I envy you for your punctual friends and family.

Papa Frenchie and I are always waiting downstairs for my Mama Frenchie and Sister Frenchie to be ready. I had a friend in high school who we'd tell something started at least an hour before it actually did in hopes of her being on time, and although none of my current friends are that bad I'm selfish and I don't want people sneaking in, in the middle of the ceremony OR missing it entirely.

There is also the matter of traffic. The majority of our guest will most likely be driving 65 miles from Orange County to Rancho Bernardo, which, according to Google Maps takes a little over an hour. But, that is with no traffic.

The traffic from OC to SD can be hit or miss, you can make it to downtown in no time or it can take you hours. Most the time there is not rhyme or reason for the delay, especially in the summer. We've tried to alert our guests on our website and Wedding Map, but not everyone is going to check those sites.

So what is our solution? We lied. Our invitation says that our ceremony will begin @3:30 (just like the website and the map), but we're really going to begin @4. Annie, the winery's coordinator, suggested placing a sign at the entrance to the Pavilion that says something like:

Did you lie about the start time of your wedding to ensure all your guest were on time?
